LIGHT DUTY RACKS

Light Duty RacksA & J Manufacturing Company offers a light duty electronic equipment rack-cabinet, Series 100, with a large and increasing variety of equipment installation kits. The standard light duty rack is manufactured from Series 2500 light weight extrusions, 72 inches high, 21.31 inches wide and 25.47 inches deep. It comes with a .25 inch full bottom panel, full top panel and is of modular bolted together construction. The rack-cabinet has two (2) front RETMA Bars, each having the standard EIA panel mounting hole pattern and a vertical T-Nut slot. Two (2) backup bars containing the T-Nut Slots are located in the rear. A rear EIA hole pattern is optional. A & J uses the four (4) T-Nut slots for the majority of the electronics kit mounting/interface in the rack/cabinet. The T-Nut slot dimensions from front to rear and side to side are maintained throughout the standard lines of light, medium, and heavy duty rack/cabinets to facilitate the interchangeability of installation kits. MEDIUM DUTY RACKS

Medium Duty RacksA & J Manufacturing Company offers a medium duty electronic equipment rack/cabinet, Series 150, with a large variety of equipment installation kits. These basic installation kits are shock and vibration qualified and are also interchangeable between the light duty and heavy duty rack cabinets. The standard medium duty rack-cabinet is 72 inches high, 22.3 inches wide, and 26 inches deep with a partial bottom panel, full top panel and is of modular bolted-together construction. The 150 Series rack-cabinet uses the A & J 6500 extrusion that has a slightly greater section modulus than the 2500 extrusion, which enables the rack to support medium to heavy equipment payloads in a shock and vibration environment.

The 150 Series section modulus enables the open frame rack to support a six hundred pound (600#) payload and a nine hundred pound (900#) payload in the enclosed cabinet. Read More

HEAVY DUTY RACKS

Heavy Duty RacksA & J Manufacturing Company offers a heavy duty electronic equipment rack-cabinet, Series 159, with a large variety of equipment installation kits. These basic installation kits are shock and vibrations qualified and are also interchangeable among the light duty and medium duty rack-cabinets. The standard heavy duty rack-cabinet is 72 inches height, 24 inches wide, and 26 inches deep with a full top and bottom panel and is of modular bolted together construction. The bottom panel has four (4) cutouts, one near each corner, to facilitate bolting the cabinet to a foundation. The 159 Series rack-cabinet uses the A & J 9000 extrusion that has a heavy duty section modulus, approximately four times greater than the medium duty rack-cabinet. The 159 Series section modulus enables the open frame rack to support a 560 pound payload successfully at 50Hz and at a transmissibility of 2.75 to 1. The heavy duty cabinet has been successfully qualified with a 900 pound payload at 33 Hz. Both enclosures have also been successfully shock qualified in accordance with MIL-S-901. Read More

Custom Manufacturing

Since 1959, A & J Manufacturing Company has specialized in the design and manufacture of customer specified enclosures. Our enclosures range in size and configuration from small computer card cage to a large multiple-bay console and are designed and tailored to meet our customer’s specific needs.

All A & J Manufacturing Company enclosures are manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminum using our unique family of proprietary extrusions. We use bolted-together modular construction and meet the requirements of MIL-S-901 Shock and MIL-STD-167-1 Vibration.

The simplicity of our design requires no welding, no special tooling, and no jig fixtures. No special hand tools are required for equipment or rack installation. This results in a lower customer cost per enclosure.
